A Guide To: CHANGE, QUALITY, Parenting, INVESTING, Profound Wisdom; plus PHILOSOPHY, Greatest LUCES, Theory of a Dual Universe, (The Theory of Everything!!!) ...

Hi, I'm Mike Prewarski, author, philosopher, and Change Master, your host and your guide. This site is about ideas, and change. I attack old ideas that have imprisoned minds for centuries and offer suggestions that can elevate the human experience.  My first book is: CHANGE MASTER - Effecting Change in Hostile Environments, and Principles of W. Edwards Deming's New Management Philosophy. This book is full of profound wisdom that when applied, it can transform any nation (or company) into an industrial or services powerhouse, and raise the standard of living of all its citizens. My second book: IS THIS IT?, is about my amazing spiritual journey to enlightenment. The third book: FIRST STEP, is a guide for parenting infants. Fourth offering: Napoleon's Great Lessons and Legacy . These books, my essays and advice are all intended to make readers lives fuller, more meaningful and more successful, and the world a better place with more understanding people.

More Books

My fifth book is COMPETENT INVESTOR. It is another journey, my journey towards becoming a competent investor. I have profited by writing this book and I hope that readers will profit too. The sixth book is:  THE GREATEST LUCES - My Spiritual Brothers. It is about the wisest humans in the history of all great civilizations, and defines my philosophy. I also advise you to read MIKE'S THEORY of a DUAL UNIVERSE in the Essay page. I explain gravity, dark energy, dark matter and the heart beat of the universe that keeps everything in motion and which keeps atoms in tack. Is it the Unifying Theory sought by scientists, or maybe it is simply my imaginative mind at play.

For now, Internet aficionados may read my offerings free; but please respect copyright laws. I do this, believe it or not, in my self-interests, because if I succeed in communicating and connecting with people, I will achieve a fuller life myself. In some mysterious way, my offerings alter the consciousness of the universe (God or the Great Spirit) and change the universe. So powerful am I.

New for the month of September 2010 is: 1) The first photo is of me at the town square in Kiev. The second is of me with the huge Orthodox Church complex in the background. I look tired because I walked for about 4  or 5 hours. 2) I am still highly recommending reading the book on Emotional Intelligence, written by Daniel Goleman. It is a must read. 3) I am also recommending the second book, Social Intelligence, written by the same a the same author. 4) Also this month I am again bring readers attention to my first book, CHANGE MASTER. Because in this critical time of history this book is all about change and how to effect change in any hostile environment.5) In addition, I am offering some comments about the current performance of the stock market. 6) I write a brief report on my experience to Ukraine.

Emotional Intelligence I highly recommend to all my Internet friends to read the book on Emotional Intelligence, written by Daniel Goleman. It will improve your life, bring greater success in your careers, strengthen all your relationships (especially marital), etc. What is Emotional Intelligence? Dr. Goleman's definition is: abilities such as being to motivate oneself, and persist in the face of frustrations; to control impulse and delay gratification; to regulate one's moods and keep distress from swamping the ability to think; to empathize and to hope

The main five domains of emotional intelligence ( as defined by Salovey and John Mayer) are: "1. Self awareness- recognizing a feeling as it happens- is the keystone of EI. 2. Managing emotions - handling feelings so they are appropriate is an ability that builds on self-awareness. 3. Motivating oneself - marshaling emotions in the service of a goal is essential for paying attention, for self-motivation and mastery, and for creativity. Emotional self-control, delaying gratification, and stifling impulsiveness-underlies accomplishment of every sort. 4. Recognizing emotions in others - Empathy, another ability that builds on emotional self-awareness, is the fundamental "people skill". 5. Handling relationships -the art of relationships, is in a large part, skill in managing emotions of others. People who excel in these skills do well at anything that relies on interacting smoothly with others; they are social stars."

Social Intelligence - The New Science of Human Relationships. Daniel Goleman writes: " The most fundamental revelation of this new discipline: we are wired to connect. And when we look into eyes of someone we care for, there is a neural brain to brain linkup. This is one of the most fantastic things I have ever heard about human relationships. But wait there is more. He writes: "During these neural linkups, our brains engage in an emotional tango, a dance of feelings. The brain to brain link allows our strongest relationships to shape us on matters as benign as whether we laugh at the same joke or as profound as which genes are (or are not) activated in T-cells, the immune system's foot soldiers in the constant battle against bacteria and viruses...To a surprising extent, then, our relationships mold not just our experience but our biology". These linkups have very deep consequences, because we keep each other health and we create one another. Isn't this fantastic???

Kondratieff Cycle I have added the article article on the Kondratieff Cycle to the essay page.

Secrets of a Healthy, Happy and Long Life has been moved to the Advice page.

My Comments on the Stock Mark:  This August the market preformed the worst  for August in about 20 years. And the sentiment is so low that it is a good omen for a big pop up in the beginning of September. And that's what happened today Sept. 1. But at the time, my data indicates 7 to 8 percent drop at the end of the month. However, I have now more than 11,000 shares in MNDO which pays 10 or 40% dividend. I don't which is the dividend until it is declared soon. I also bought NLY, MO, CIM, AGNC, all paying high dividends and MO has growth potential. This is the first time that I bought a sin stock.

What Drilling For Oil off the Eastern Shore? This is the absolutely the wrong decision and takes the focus off the the thing that should be done. Like building more high speed railways for freight and passenger service. Allotting only 8 billion for 2 small high speed rails is ridiculous. It's laughable that America has any intensions to become leaders in anything but foolishness and entertainment.

CHANGE MASTER This book is a very important must read for everyone including politicians, because everyone is talking about change. Well it is easy to talk about change and the need for change, but change is very difficult to implement, and in many cases, darn near impossible. There are many, many barriers to change which includes: attitudes, customs, and culture.

Also knowledge of this book is very important to those trying to change the Healthcare System

Anyway, my book CHANGE MASTER  is full of "profound wisdom" that can transform nations into great industrial and/or services countries, and raise the standard of living of all their citizens !!! Why do I know this? It was done before by W. Edwards Deming back in the 1950s.

After WWII, Japan was completely devastated and the people were starving. In early 1950s Dr. Deming was in Japan working as a statistician for the US government. He had good knowledge and understanding about quality and how quality is achieved, and about good management philosophy. While on assignment, he took pity on the Japanese and their situation, so somehow he gathered together a group of prominent industrial land political leaders. He explained what they must do. And they listened to him and decided to follow his advice. As they say, "the rest is history". Japan became, and still is, the greatest, most productive and inventive industrial nation in the world; and, without equal!

And, the thing is any nation or company who follows Dr. Deming's basic THREE PRINCIPLES, can expect similar success:

Dr. Deming's Three Basic Principles;

1, Focus completely on quality. But how does one define quality? Quality seems to have a different meaning to all people. In my book, I give the very best and most complete definition of quality and how quality is achieved in products, production and services. Believe it or not, but we can quantify quality in terms of money by using Dr. Genichi Taguchi's "Loss Function".

2, Constantly and continually improve designs of products, production processes and methods, systems and services. And that's exactly what the Japanese have been doing for the past fifty years. A company like Toyota, can invite American Motor companies and divulge all their secrets and technology for making Hybrid cars and not worry one bit, because by the time American companies produce Hybrid cars on current Toyota's technology, Toyota will improve their technology to the next improved level.

But, believe me Toyota is not perfect, and because they are big, they move rather slow. For example, last year Toyota discovered that one of the smaller Japanese companies invented a more advanced version of Hybrid engine (that compounded thermal cycles), which was more fuel efficient than anything Toyota had planned. Consequently, Toyota seduced the smaller company not to produce the more advanced Hybrid engine for another five to ten years. Toyota executives don't give a shit for high efficient engines, as long as Toyota has the advantage over the other car manufacturers, which are basically run by ignorant idiots!!! Has anyone been watching Toyota's  advertisements on TV recently? They are absolutely disgusting! They must think that all Americans are exceeding stupid! The problems Toyota is having now, is because for years they've been trying to emulate GM and finally they have become GM. Only now Toyota's quality is worse than GM's quality. So what happened? Top management dropped the ball. They have forgotten Deming's principles and began to focus on numbers. They wished to become number 1 in world wide cars sales and not number 1 in in quality. As a result, Toyota is now dead last in quality. Toyota is in much deeper in problems that their president realizes. Over some years their employees have become brain dead as GM was when I visited GM in 1980.  Band aid solutions won't work. There must be a major reorganization from top to bottom, which will take from 5 to 10 years to resuscitated the company.

3, Break down the barriers that keep workers from having pride of workmanship and give them as much responsibility as possible. Of course this requires much training and good knowledge of statistics, and of the science of measurement. This way workers don't have to leave their brains at the doorstep when they enter the places where they work, and they will be more satisfied, more happy and more productive, and the customers will be more satisfied also. In addition, the quality of the services and products will rise, and the costs will come down.

In my the second part of my book I identify many of the barriers to change and how to get around these barriers. Finally, I describe a 10-Step process to change in detail and add a flow chart to make it more clear, and I include very valuable and simple tools, such as Failure Mode and Effect Analysis, that leads to better and higher quality design of products and services. Before releasing any product, or legislation, you must know how it can fail !!!

MY TRIP TO UKRAINE This was my second trip to Ukraine, and on both trips I learn about the people, their character, nature, history and culture. Still Ukraine and it's people remain a mystery. Most want and receive a good education, but finding suitable work is very difficult. Unless they  know powerful friends, or they know someone in a high government position.

For a relative small country, they have quite a few cities with a population over one million and many small towns and villages. Like most large cities, they similar in economic wealth, architecture, and infrastructure. Kiev, their capital city, is an exception.

Kiev is not only the seat of their government, it is also the religious center of  the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The Orthodox Church has a huge complex of buildings, caves, monuments etc., which I believe might be larger than St. Peter's in Rome. This is an awesome place to visit.

Just as awesome is the city square. Hear again a traveler will find amazing views above the ground and a fantastic shopping mall below ground. And yes, there is a MacDonald at one end of the city square and one underground. As you walk around the city the wealth of Kiev is much greater than an other city in Ukraine. I guess the central government really pays well. Everywhere, you look, you will find big expensive cars and SUVs. Yet the pay for the average worker in Ukraine is about $500 to $700 US per month, and the cost of living is nearly the same as in Arizona.

There is no question that Ukrainians love their country, but many or most must leave to live in countries where there is less corruption and more opportunities. Ukraine has great potential as the bread basket of Europe. All that is lacking is a great leader with imagination, integrity, vision and a plan how to change Ukraine into a world class competitive nation. And with the world population increasing from 6 to 9 billion by 2030, Ukraine could have huge growth and wealth potential. As of today Ukraine can not sell it's agriculture products to Euro Countries. Soon these countries will come begging for  food.
